Obituary-Thomas Brandt

Thomas Andrew Brandt, age 24, passed away in a car accident on January 20, 2024, in Salina, Ks. 

Thomas, also known as Tommy, was born on September 11, 1999. He was the son of Rebekah and Levi Brandt. He was the oldest child of 4: Austin, Emma, and Greyson.

Thomas attended Bergman Elementary School in Kindergarten but then finished schooling at USD 379, graduating in 2018.  During high school, he worked at Ray’s Apple Market, Clay Center Locker Plant, and Sonic. Thomas took on leadership roles in his time working at Sonic. He later went on to serve four years in the Marines. These years were rough for him and led to many mental health struggles. After leaving the Marines, he moved to Salina, KS. He graduated from Salina Tech in May 2023 and further applied to the Kansas State University campus in Salina. He was no longer seeking education after December of 2023. In addition, he also worked at Great Plains as a machinist and was consistently working to better himself.

Thomas was passionate about music and often enjoyed going to rock concerts. He had great musical talent and played guitar and ukulele. Apart from music, Thomas was happiest being around those he loved. He was a free spirit and always brought joy to everyone around him. Thomas was a bright star and will always burn bright in our hearts. 

Survivors include Rebekah, Levi Brandt, Austin(brother), Emma(sister), Greyson (brother),  several grandparents, lots of aunts and uncles and cousins, and so many others whom he impacted. 

Preceded in death by Belinda Willhite, Harold Brandt Jr & Sr, Luther Pennell Sr, Donald Yothers Sr.

There is no plan for a service at this time.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
