Obituary-Vicki Roberts

Victoria “Vicki” M. Roberts, age 100, entered into rest on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Advena Living of Clay Center, Clay Center, Kansas. She was born on January 7, 1924, in Concordia, Kansas, to Perry and Anna (Forsling) Johnson. Perry and Anna had twelve children.

Vicki attended Cottonwood country school while growing up until the eighth grade.  She was a 1941 graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.

On April 3, 1946, she married Victor W. Roberts in Concordia, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on February 4, 1980.

She was a member of the Women’s Aux. of the American Legion Post #76 and V.F.W. Post # 588, both of Concordia, and the Clyde V.F.W.

Vicki was a volunteer for almost everything:  helping at the American Legion, V.F.W. and Mt. Joseph Nursing Home for many years.  She was a very patriotic person and loved to help place the American flags in the cemetery on Memorial Day in honor of veterans.  She loved the quote “Miss Me But Let Me Go”.

Vicki was an avid KU fan, had a passion for windmills, barns and birds. Most of all she loved spending time with her beloved family and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Debi Nuss (Ron), Russell, KS; two sons, Michael Roberts (Emily Fonken), Clyde, KS; Randy Roberts (Betty), Lebanon, MO; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband, Victor W. Roberts; parents, Perry and Anna Johnson; daughter, Susan Roberts and granddaughter, Kerry Ann Roberts & 11 siblings.

Vicki’s wishes were to be cremated.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas, with Pastor Brenda Rodger officiating. 

Family will be available to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
