Obituary-Wendell G. Wilgers

Wendell G. Wilgers, 80 died November 6, 2024, in Lincoln, NE.  He was born on November 12, 1943, in Clay Center, the son of Martin and Velma (Dankenbring) Wilgers.  Wendell was raised in the Palmer community.  He was a Class of 1961 graduate from Linn High School.  Wendell married JoAnn Reith on September 2, 1962.  They made their home and farmed in the Palmer community.  In his free time, Wendell enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR races.  He attended several races in Florida and at the Kansas Speedway.  Wendell was a member of the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and was active within the Palmer community; helping decorate the town Christmas tree and serving meals at the Labor Day celebration.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Wallice Wilgers and brother, Jan Wilgers.

Funeral Services: 10:30AM Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the St Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Palmer, KS

Minister: Rev. Ron Hamm

Burial: St. Paul Cemetery, Palmer, Kansas

Visitation: 4-6 PM Friday, November 15, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, KS
