City of Abilene

The City of Abilene requires dog tags for all dogs within city limits. Registration must be renewed annually by February 28th. 

To register, owners need to provide a driver’s license or photo ID, rabies vaccination records (showing the expiration date) for each dog, and payment.

Upon registration, a tag will be issued and should be attached to the dog’s collar whenever the dog is outside.

Registration is completed at City Hall, 419 N Broadway.  

A late fee will apply after February 28th.
