The Kansas Department of Transportation has begun resurfacing on U.S. 36 in Republic and Washington counties.
Work will involve a chip seal on U.S. 36 from the east city limits of Belleville in Republic County, continuing east approximately 18 miles, to K-22 in Washington County and one mile of K-139 from U.S. 36 to Cuba.
During construction, flaggers and a pilot car will guide one lane of traffic through construction at a reduced speed. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
Vance Brothers Inc. and Subsidiary, of Kansas City, Missouri, is the prime contractor for the $864,000 project, which is scheduled to be completed in July, weather permitting.
