Riley’s City-Wide Cleanup Dates Set

By Ryan Duey

The City of Riley has announced they will be holding their City-Wide Cleanup on Monday, May 6th, and Tuesday, May 7th this year. Items must be sorted, or the City will not pick them up.

The City will not be accepting electronics, microwaves, TVs, paint, batteries, liquids, books, and paper, among other things. They ask that items be sorted by rock, furniture, appliances, grass and leaves, metal, and wood.

Citizens should be mindful of what they put out for cleanup, and it is the discretion of the City Employees on what they pick up and will not spend hours at one house picking up items.

Senior citizens who need help getting heavier items moved to the curb can contact the city office. Information on the Spring Cleanup can be found on the City of Riley, Kansas Facebook page.
