Starting this week, the Stilling Basin and its access points at Tuttle Creek Lake will be closed for up to four months to accommodate two construction projects.
Project #1 involves a riprap overlay, replacing decades-old rock used for erosion prevention. This project is expected to be completed by September, weather permitting.
Project #2 focuses on repairing the gate liner by replacing the steel liner plates beneath the flood control gates. This project may extend until the end of 2024.
During these projects, the west entrance to Tuttle Creek State Park will remain closed. In July, the river channel will be dewatered to allow crews to work in the stilling basin.
Access to the River Pond and State Park will be available from the east entrance at K-13 and River Pond Road.
