Washington County Conservation District Announces Cost Share Sign-Up for Conservation Projects

The Washington County Conservation District administers the Water Resource Cost Share Program and the Non-Point Source Cost Share Program. A cost share sign-up will be held from March 31st to April 11th, for landowners seeking financial assistance from the State of Kansas for conservation practices.

Eligible conservation practices include waterways, terraces, livestock ponds, wells, sediment control basins, pasture planting, septic systems, and riparian area enhancements. Funds must be used between July 2025 and June 2026.

All projects require approval from the Division of Conservation before installation and must be maintained for ten years. Failure to comply may result in penalties, including fund repayment or ineligibility for future assistance.

Funding is provided through the Kansas Water Plan Fund. Visit the District office at 705 B Street in Washington for more information.
