EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Urte Bacianskaite earned Second Team All-America honors in the women’s heptathlon on Saturday (June 8) during the NCAA Outdoor Championship at Hayward Field. The Lithuania native scored 5,696 points, finishing 12th in her third consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, the most by any K-State heptathlete.
Bacianskaite began the day in 19th place with 3,353 points, boosted by winning the javelin throw with a personal best of 47.48m, earning 811 points. She also recorded her season best in the long jump, finishing 16th with a distance of 5.79m. In the 800 meters, she placed 18th with a time of 2:25.80.
On day one, Bacianskaite placed 4th in the shot put, 19th in the high jump, 22nd in the 200 meters, and 23rd in the 100 meter hurdles.
