The Kansas City Chiefs and Chris Jones agreed on a five-year contract with $95 million guaranteed, his agents confirmed. Jones will sign a deal with the highest-ever average annual salary for a defensive tackle. Last season, the Chiefs excelled with Jones on the field, allowing 4.3 yards per play, compared to 5.5 when he was off. His guaranteed money ranks fourth among defensive players. Jones, 29, held out of training camp last year before returning on a revised one-year deal. He recorded 10.5 sacks last season, earning first-team All-Pro honors and his third Super Bowl win. With Jones secured, the Chiefs look to build on their success as they eye a historic third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
