The Kansas City Chiefs have announced roster cuts ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man deadline, releasing several players, including three former Kansas State Wildcats. Randen Plattner, who was signed just last week following an injury to long snapper James Winchester, was among those waived. Also cut were wide receiver Phillip Brooks and cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe.
Boye-Doe, who earned a Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs last season, now faces an uncertain future, along with his former K-State teammates. Despite being waived, these players may still have an opportunity to return to the team via the practice squad or could sign with other teams. More roster moves are expected as the Chiefs finalize their lineup for the upcoming season.
