The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 27-20, in a season-opener that came down to the final seconds. Trailing by seven, Baltimore reached Kansas City’s 10-yard line with five seconds left. Lamar Jackson connected with Isaiah Likely for what appeared to be a game-tying touchdown. However, after review, Likely’s foot was ruled out of bounds, sealing the Chiefs’ win.
Patrick Mahomes completed 20-of-28 passes for 291 yards and one touchdown. Rookie Xavier Worthy made a splash, scoring twice, including a 35-yard catch. Rashee Rice added 103 receiving yards.
The Chiefs’ defense held the Ravens to a 1-for-4 red zone conversion rate and forced a key strip-sack from Chris Jones, which helped secure the victory.
