The Kansas City Chiefs have signed kicker Harrison Butker to a four-year contract extension worth $25.6 million, making him the highest-paid kicker in the NFL. The deal includes $17.75 million in guaranteed money and averages $6.4 million per year, surpassing the contracts of Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jake Elliott. The extension ties Butker to the Chiefs through the 2028 season.
Butker, who has a career field goal percentage of 89.1%, is known for his clutch kicks in key moments, including the Super Bowl and AFC Championship Game. Last season, he made 33 out of 35 field goals, including six from beyond 50 yards. Butker, who negotiated the deal himself, expressed his excitement about staying with the Chiefs. He first joined the team in 2017 and has been a reliable performer since.
