Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice expressed gratitude for the support he’s received from quarterback Patrick Mahomes during his ongoing legal issues. Speaking at Chiefs training camp, Rice stated, “He’s there for me whenever I need him on or off the field. He’s only a call away, and he’s always going to pick up my call.”
Rice faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and collision involving serious bodily injury, related to a high-speed auto accident in Dallas in March that resulted in injuries to at least seven people. Rice is also a suspect in a separate assault incident at a Dallas nightclub, though no charges have been filed.
Rice, who led Chiefs receivers last season with 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns, emphasized his focus on being the best teammate he can be. “The main thing for me is being able to be the best person I can be for my team,” Rice said.
