K-State senior transfer Coleman Hawkins has been named to the 2024-25 Karl Malone Award Watch List. The award, presented by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, recognizes the top power forward in college basketball each season. This marks Hawkins’ second consecutive year on the watch list, following his 2023-24 nomination while playing for Illinois.

Hawkins is one of 20 players on the list, including five from the Big 12. Other notable names include Alabama’s Grant Nelson and Auburn’s Johni Broome. Fan voting begins November 1, with the list narrowing to 10 in February and five in March, before the winner is chosen.

Hawkins, also named to the Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Watch List, averaged 12.1 points per game at Illinois last season. In K-State’s recent exhibition win over Fort Hays State, he contributed 13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

K-State opens its season on November 5 against New Orleans.
