By Jayson Henderson

K-State had nine student-athletes named to the 2024 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Teams, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Seven players earned First Team honors, and two received Second Team recognition.

The First Team honorees include Tyson Neighbors, Mason Buss, Andrew Evans, Brendan Jones, Kyan Lodice, Jayden Lobliner, and Cadyn Karl. Jackson Wentworth and Cole Wisenbaker were named to the Second Team.

Under head coach Pete Hughes, K-State has accumulated 56 academic all-conference selections over six seasons.

First Team members must maintain a GPA of 3.20 or higher, while Second Team members hold a GPA between 3.00 and 3.19. To qualify, student-athletes need a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher for the past two semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year, but senior athletes with at least two years of participation can qualify even if they do not meet the participation percentage.

K-State completed a notable 2024 season, making their second appearance in the NCAA Super Regional after winning the Fayetteville Regional title with a 3-0 record. The Wildcats finished the year with a 35-26 record, marking the seventh time in school history they have achieved 35-plus wins and the second time under coach Pete Hughes.
