K-State Earns 17 Spots on All-Big 12 Teams

Kansas State football placed 17 players on the 2024 Coaches’ All-Big 12 Teams, led by senior defensive end Brendan Mott, who was named Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and earned First Team honors.

Mott led the Big 12 with 8.5 sacks and added 11.5 tackles for loss during the regular season. He became the sixth Wildcat to earn Defensive Lineman of the Year honors, the most in the conference since the award began in 2006.

Second Team selections included running back DJ Giddens, tight end Garrett Oakley, linebacker Austin Romaine, and offensive linemen Easton Kilty and Sam Hecht. Giddens finished the regular season with 1,343 rushing yards, ranking fourth in the conference. Romaine led the Wildcats with 89 tackles and three forced fumbles.

Honorable mentions featured Dylan Edwards for his return skills, Jacob Parrish and VJ Payne in the secondary, and Chiddi Obiazor, who earned votes for Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.
