MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State women’s tennis team has been recognized as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for the sixth consecutive year. Additionally, five Wildcats—Jillian Harkin, Charlotte Keitel, Veronika Kulhava, Tereza Polakova, and Maria Santos—were named Scholar Athletes.
Head coach Jordan Smith praised the team, saying, “I’m always impressed with this team’s ability to excel in the classroom while being competitive on the court. This recognition is well deserved for the team and those who received individual honors.”
K-State is one of 13 Big 12 Conference schools named All-Academic Teams, contributing to a total of 67 Scholar Athletes. Baylor, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, and West Virginia led the conference with seven Scholar Athletes each.
Kulhava and Santos also received Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in May.
To qualify, an All-Academic Team must have a GPA of 3.20 or higher, while a Scholar Athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
