MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State student-athletes continued to excel academically, with 38 Wildcats named to the 2023-24 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
K-State soccer led with nine selections, followed by football and men’s track and field/cross country with six each. Rowing had four honorees, while women’s tennis added three. Women’s track and field/cross country, women’s golf, and men’s golf each had two recipients. Baseball, men’s basketball, volleyball, and women’s basketball each had one honoree.
Ten Wildcats achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs: Paige Baker (women’s track and field), Julia Ballester (women’s golf), Devin Chappel (men’s track and field), Jill Harkin (tennis), Madelyn Navrkal (rowing), Emily Northcutt (rowing), Taryn Sides (women’s basketball), Symone Sims (volleyball), Tavon Underwood (men’s track and field), and Reece Walrod (soccer).
Other honorees include Isaac Ativie, Harry Bent, Ty Brechler, Jack Fabris, Wesley Fair, James Guyette, Joe Jackson, Brooklyn Jones, RJ Jones, Charlotte Keitel, Harmony Leiker, Riley Marx, Simon McClannan, Alenka Navarro, Asa Newsom, Crosby Nicholson, Jacob Norris, Chiddi Obiazor, Anna Pagano, Lily Patterson, Tereza Polakova, Bryant Polhill, Laney Reishus, Regan Reker, Rilyn Rintoul, Jo Sees, Morgan Struttmann, and Acacia Weis.
