Kansas State secured a 34-27 victory over Tulane after a strong second half, capped by Jack Fabris’ 60-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The Wildcats trailed 20-10 at halftime but came alive after the break.

Sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson completed 15-of-23 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. His 45-yard touchdown pass to DJ Giddens on fourth-and-1 tied the game at 20 in the third quarter. Giddens finished with 114 rushing yards and added a receiving touchdown.

Defensively, the Wildcats made key stops in the fourth quarter, with VJ Payne intercepting a Tulane pass in the end zone with five seconds left, sealing the win. Kansas State improved to 2-0, while Tulane fell to 1-1.

K-State head coach Chris Klieman praised the team’s resilience, noting, “Our culture won this.” The Wildcats return home to face Arizona next week.
