K-State Secures NIT Bid, Eyes Victory Against Iowa

By Jayson Henderson

Kansas State (K-State) secured a coveted National Invitational Tournament (NIT) bid, setting the stage for a showdown against Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 8 p.m. CT. Head Coach Jerome Tang leads the Wildcats into the national invitational tournament encounter against the Iowa Hawkeyes, coached by Fran McCaffery. K-State aims to overcome Iowa’s potent offense, with the winner advancing to face either Utah or UC Irvine. With a storied history, K-State has a 6-8 NIT record. The matchup marks the first meeting between the two teams since 2008. The NIT bid presents an opportunity for K-State to extend its season and compete on a national stage. While Iowa may be favored, K-State’s determination and past successes in similar situations make the outcome uncertain.
