K-State Track & Field at Big 12 Championship: Medal Success and NCAA Qualifiers Await

K-State track and field competed in the Big 12 Championship on February 24. Nine Wildcats and the men’s 4×400 relay team earned medals. Men’s team finished 9th with 34 points, women’s team 10th with 33.5 points. Texas Tech led men’s with 152 points, Texas led women’s with 135. Junior Emil Uhlin 5th in men’s heptathlon with 5,522 points. Men’s 4×400 relay team runner-up with 3:04.54. Eugene Omalla 5th in men’s 400m dash with 45.89s. Wildcats podium spots in high jump events. Senior Jasmine Greer 7th in women’s shot put. Sophomore Jhavor Bennett 8th in men’s triple jump. Freshman Josphine Wanjiku, senior Hannah Stewart 12th, 16th in women’s 3,000m. Nate Collier 17th in men’s shot put. NCAA Indoor Championship qualifiers announced Feb 27, championship on March 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
