K-State Track & Field Excels at Hurricane Invitational

K-State Track & Field participated in the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida. Senior Kade McCall broke his hammer throw record with a throw of 69.33m/227-5. Junior Monique Hardy and senior Charlotte Cattermole-Williams placed 3rd and 5th in the women’s hammer throw. Sophomore Nate Collier and graduate senior Andrew White finished 5th and 6th in the men’s discus throw. Senior Jesse Pinkley secured 3rd place in the men’s pole vault. Freshman Josphine Wanjiku achieved a new personal record in the women’s 3,000 meters, finishing runner-up.

Wildcats achieved personal records across various events as day two of the meet unfolded on March 16. K-State wrapped up the Hurricane Invitational with noteworthy performances. Freshman Riley Marx secured 5th place in the men’s javelin throw. Seniors Briana Lowe and Luke Ralston participated in the javelin throw events. Junior Grace Thompson, junior Daisy Monie, senior Jasmine Greer, and senior Jaycee Schroeder set personal bests in the women’s shot put, earning spots in the K-State all-time outdoor top-10. Sophomore Aaron Antoine tied for 1st in the men’s high jump. Several Wildcats clocked their fastest times in the women’s 1,500 meters. Records were also achieved in the women’s 100-meter hurdles and the men’s 100-meter dash. Both men’s and women’s 4×400 relay teams secured top-five placements. K-State anticipates a weekend off before upcoming events.
