K-State track and field teams exhibited strong performances at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville. Senior Monique Hardy clinched the women’s weight throw with a distance of 21.32m/69-11.50. Additionally, Senior Kade McCall secured a top-five finish in the men’s weight throw with 21.54m/70-8. Senior Shalom Olotu and sophomore Jhavor Bennett achieved top-five placements in the long jump, marking their best season performances. In the women’s 3000 meters, Senior Hannah Stewart and freshman Josphine Wanjiku displayed excellence with Stewart claiming 3rd place. Notably, Sophomore Twaneise Johnson and freshman Nen Matlock achieved personal bests in the 400-meter dash. Day two continued with more personal bests for K-State athletes. The team will compete next in the Steve Miller Invitational on February 16th.
