K-State’s Raphael Pelletier Named to Buster Posey Catcher of the Year Watch List

Raphael Pelletier, from Mascouche, Quebec, Canada, has been named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List, according to the Wichita Sports Commission. The award, recognizing the top Division I collegiate catcher, will be announced on June 26 at the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet.

Pelletier is one of two catchers from the Big 12 conference on the 63-man watch list, alongside Houston’s Anthony Tulimero.

Playing nearly every game this season, Pelletier holds a .262/.428/.525 batting line with nine home runs and 27 RBIs. In his last five games, he has a 1.395 OPS, hitting two home runs and four doubles. He recently achieved his first multi-home run game in a 7-2 victory over Oklahoma State.

Last season, Pelletier led the league with 16 caught runners stealing, totaling 32 in his career at K-State.
