Lady Tigers Take First Place at Marysville Tournament

The Lady Tigers secured first place in the season-opening tournament at Marysville. After a tough start, the team recovered and delivered strong performances throughout the competition.

In pool play, the Lady Tigers faced Nemaha Central, losing in three sets: 18-25, 25-13, 19-25. However, they quickly regrouped and won their next five matches, ultimately winning the tournament.

The Lady Tigers defeated Chapman 25-9, 25-14, and then Riley County 25-13, 21-25, 25-14. They wrapped up pool play with a win over Marysville, 25-16, 25-9, finishing second in their pool and advancing to bracket play.

In the semifinals, the Lady Tigers overcame Silver Lake, 25-19, 25-21, which led to a rematch against Nemaha Central in the championship match. This time, the Lady Tigers came out on top, winning 25-21, 25-22, to claim the tournament title.

Next, the Lady Tigers will host Rock Creek on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd, in the Tiger’s Den.
