Lady Wildcats Win 67-65 Against BYU at Bramlage Coliseum

The Lady Wildcats secured their 14th straight victory against BYU on Saturday evening, marking the second-longest winning streak in program history, tying with the 2008-09 team that won 14 consecutive games to begin the season.

In a historic moment for the program, the Lady Wildcats achieved 20 or more wins in a single season for the first time. Notably, K-State and Gonzaga are the only two teams in the nation to have achieved this feat so far this season.

Three K-State players reached double figures, with sophomore forward Gisela Sanchez leading the charge with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 2 of 5 from long range. Sanchez also contributed three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Junior guard and All-American candidate Serena Sundell approached a triple-double with 14 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, and four steals. Senior Gabby Gregory added 10 points, all in the third quarter, sparking a 25-point frame for the Wildcats and securing a second-half lead.

BYU, led by Lauren Gustin with 25 points and 21 rebounds. Gustin’s 21 rebounds set an opponent Bramlage Coliseum record, surpassing the mark of 20 previously set by Kristy Ryan of Sacramento State on March 3, 1994.

The Lady Wildcats will embark on a two-game road trip, starting on Wednesday against Oklahoma.
