Late Score Pushes Houston Past K-State, 24-19

Kansas State’s four-game winning streak came to an end with a 24-19 loss to Houston at TDECU Stadium on Saturday. Despite a strong defensive effort and a lead heading into the fourth quarter, K-State fell to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 play.

Houston quarterback Zeon Chriss sealed the game with a 41-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes remaining. Chriss completed all 11 of his passes for 103 yards and added 75 rushing yards.

K-State’s Avery Johnson finished 23-of-39 for 238 yards, including one touchdown and two interceptions. Despite a 19-10 lead going into the final quarter, the Wildcats were unable to hold off Houston’s late push.

The Wildcats will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup.
