Kansas State secured a thrilling 31-28 road win over Colorado on Saturday, with Avery Johnson connecting on a game-winning 50-yard touchdown pass to Jayce Brown with 2:14 left to play. The victory at Folsom Field marked K-State’s sixth win at the historic stadium.
K-State led most of the game, but Colorado rallied late to take a 28-24 lead with 3:12 remaining. Johnson responded quickly, hitting Brown for the decisive score. K-State’s defense then held strong, stopping Colorado’s final drive and running out the clock.
Johnson threw for 224 yards, two touchdowns, and rushed for another score. DJ Giddens led the Wildcats with 182 rushing yards on 25 carries, while Brown had six catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.
K-State improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Big 12.
