Quail Forever has announced the formation of the new Blue River Chapter in northeast Kansas, serving Washington and Marshall counties. The chapter will partner with local landowners to improve wildlife habitat and strengthen upland bird populations.
Unlike many national organizations, Quail Forever chapters retain full control of their fundraising, ensuring local funds directly support habitat, access, and education projects.
Kansas regional representative Mika Rezac said the new chapter’s focus on education and habitat will benefit quail, pheasants, and other wildlife. Chapter President Tyler Shriver said members are determined to restore bird populations to levels once common in the area.
One of their first efforts, the Project One Pass initiative, will work with landowners to create habitat strips that enhance wildlife and crop yields. A kickoff pint night event is planned, with details available through the chapter’s Facebook page.
