K-State junior Monique Hardy achieved a remarkable feat at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular on Friday, breaking both the K-State school and Triangular meet records. Hardy’s throw measured an impressive 22.13m/72-7.25, surpassing her previous best of 21.93m/71-11.5 from her time at LSU.
Notably, Hardy exceeded the previous school record set by Janee’ Kassanavoid in 2017 and the meet record established by Daina Levy in 2016. Kassanavoid’s record of 21.81m/71-6.75 and Levy’s meet record of 21.35m/70-00.50 were both surpassed by Hardy’s outstanding performance.
In the team standings, Kansas emerged victorious with 245.5 points after 31 events, securing the team meet title. K-State claimed the second spot with 228 points, while Wichita State finished in third place with 190.5 points. The Wildcats demonstrated dominance with 12 first-place finishes, including a clean sweep in the men’s and women’s high jump events.
Looking ahead, K-State is set to compete at the Texas Tech Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas, at the Sports Performance Center next Saturday.
