The Riley County Falcons opened their season with a 27-14 victory over the Jefferson West Tigers in a non-league football game on Friday night. The Falcons controlled the game, securing their first win of the 2024 season.
Riley County’s defense played a key role in holding Jefferson West to just 14 points. The Falcons’ offense steadily added points throughout the game, helping them pull away from the Tigers.
With the victory, Riley County moves to 1-0 and will host Holton in their next game on Friday, September 13. Holton comes into the matchup with an 0-1 record after a close loss to Sabetha.
Jefferson West, now 0-1, will look to bounce back when they face Royal Valley in another non-league game on September 13.
