Royals Activate Marsh; Lynch Sent to Triple-A

By Jayson Henderson

The Kansas City Royals activated right-handed pitcher Alec Marsh from the 15-day injured list on Friday. Marsh had been sidelined with a right elbow contusion since April 25 but returned to the rotation for Friday’s game against the Angels. In a corresponding move, the Royals optioned left-handed pitcher Daniel Lynch IV to Triple-A Omaha. Lynch had made two appearances for the Royals in the past week, delivering solid performances, including a five-scoreless-inning start against the Rangers and his first Major League relief appearance against the Angels. The Royals expressed confidence in Lynch’s abilities and anticipate his return to the team later in the season. Additionally, the Royals provided updates on several other injured players, including RHP Jordan Lyles, RHP Carlos Hernández, LHP Jake Brentz, LHP Kris Bubic, LHP Josh Taylor, and RHP Kyle Wright.
