Royals’ Slump Reaches Six Games in 9-0 Loss to Giants

By Jayson Henderson

The Kansas City Royals extended their losing streak to six games with a 9-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. The defeat drops the Royals’ lead in the American League Wild Card race to just one game over the Detroit Tigers.

Brady Singer allowed four solo home runs and six total runs over 5 1/3 innings, as the Royals fell behind by nine runs by the sixth inning. The offense continued to struggle, scoring just 13 runs during the six-game skid, including going 8-for-52 with runners in scoring position.

Manager Matt Quatraro acknowledged the frustration. “We expect more of ourselves,” he said. Bobby Witt Jr. emphasized the need to score early to regain confidence, as the Royals find themselves in a tight playoff race with just one week left in the regular season.
