Former Kansas pitcher Ryan Zeferjahn has been promoted to the Los Angeles Angels from their Triple-A affiliate, the Salt Lake Bees. Zeferjahn, who was traded from the Boston Red Sox to the Angels on July 30, 2024, posted a 2.35 ERA in 7.2 innings over five relief appearances with the Bees.
This season, across three different clubs, Zeferjahn has a 3.33 ERA in 46.0 innings, with 61 strikeouts and 21 walks. Zeferjahn, a Kansas Jayhawk from 2017-19, ranks third in program history with 260 career strikeouts. Selected in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft, Zeferjahn is the first Kansas player called up to the majors since 2020. When he makes his debut, Zeferjahn will become the 27th Jayhawk to play in the majors.
