MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang signed elite shot-blocker Ugonna Onyenso for the 2024-25 season. The 7-foot center, from Owerri, Nigeria, spent two seasons at Kentucky, contributing to 45 wins and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Onyenso, a former top-25 recruit, compiled 82 blocks in 40 games, with 66 blocks in just 24 games during the 2023-24 season. He also had notable performances, including a Rupp Arena record-tying 10 blocks against Ole Miss. Onyenso, who initially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He is the ninth player to join the Wildcats for the upcoming season, bolstering a roster that finished 19-15 last season and reached the NIT.
