Tiger Baseball Regional Champs!

Clay Center hosted the West Regional as the overall Number Four Seed. In game one the Tigers matched up with fellow NCKL member Chapman and would win the semifinal 12-2 in six innings. Cole Pladson took the hill with a complete game win; giving up 5 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 8. 2 hits each for Miller Coffman, Cole Pladson; with a double and was walked 3 times, Isaac Berggren; with a double and Jonah Ferguson who also tripled. One hit each for Hayden Cyr and Rylan Gurney.

Game Two was for the Regional Title and a trip to State and the Tigers took care of business with a 10-2 win. Jacob Cutshall and Jett Hayes both had two hits. One hit each for Miller Coffman, Berggren, Gurney and Ferguson. Gurney would go 5 innings on the bump giving up 2 runs and striking out 2. Colten Tadtman came in and closed another for the Tigers, pitching 2 innings with only 1 hit and 6 K’s. With the win the Tigers return to State for the first time since 2023. The Tigers will open State Play at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina on Thursday May 29th at 1:15 against Paola. Winners from day one will advance to Friday’s play. For the Tigers a win will put them into an 11 AM game against the winner of Fort Scott and Abilene.
