Tigers Come Up Short On Homecoming

By: Rocky Downing

Clay Center had an NCKL battle with Concordia Friday night. The Tigers trailed after one quarter 17-13; but took a four-point lead into halftime. They would lead most of the second half until the closing seconds when Concordia took a two-point lead with under 5 seconds left. Clay Center’s Jace Weller would get a shot off just inside half court to win it; it looked good before rolling around the ring and falling off the rim. A great battle comes up short for the Tigers 56-54. Weston Hammond nailed 4 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 17 points. Isaac Berggren 11; Jace Weller 10; Cole Pladson 9; Owen Craig 5; Brett Hoffaman 2. Clay Center now owns a 9-4 record and are 5-2 in the NCKL.
