The Wakefield Bombers were shut out by the Axtell Eagles, 50-0, in Friday’s non-conference game at home. The Bombers struggled to move the ball and couldn’t break through Axtell’s defense, remaining scoreless throughout the game.
Axtell took an early lead and continued to build on it each quarter. Wakefield’s offense had trouble gaining momentum, and the Eagles capitalized on their opportunities to secure the win.
With the loss, Wakefield’s record falls to 2-2. Next, the Bombers will face Hanover on the road in a Twin Valley matchup on October 11. The Wildcats are 5-0 this season and are coming off a 46-0 victory over Blue Valley.
The Bombers will look to refocus and prepare for their next game as they take on another tough opponent.
