The Wakefield Bombers were overwhelmed by Rural Vista [Hope/White City] on Friday night, suffering a 52-6 defeat in Hope, Kansas. This was the Bombers’ first loss of the season, dropping their record to 2-1.

Wakefield struggled to contain the Heat’s offense and couldn’t find momentum on either side of the ball. The Bombers’ only score came in the second half, but by then, Rural Vista had established a strong lead.

Looking ahead, Wakefield will face the Axtell Eagles on Friday. Axtell comes into the game with a 4-0 record and is coming off a decisive 64-8 win over Blue Valley. It will be a tough challenge for the Bombers on their home field.

With district games approaching, this upcoming matchup will be an important test for Wakefield.
