WICHITA, Kan. – CC Wong, a standout player for the Wichita State Shockers, will represent the Canadian Women’s National Softball Team, as announced by Softball Canada on Tuesday. The Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native, is among 21 athletes selected for the 2024 roster.
Team Canada will compete in the P5 Colorado event from June 26-28 in Fort Collins, Colo., and the Canada Cup from July 1-7 in Surrey, B.C. Wong is the second Shocker softball athlete to make a National Team and the first for Team Canada, following Sydney McKinney’s selection to Team USA in 2022.
The roster includes six members from Canada’s 2020 Olympic team and 13 from the 2023 WBSC World Cup Group Stage. The team will showcase a mix of seasoned players and new talent.
Selections were made after regional identification camps and a final selection camp.
