Witt Jr. Hosts Youth Camp to Support Royals Superfan with ALS

Chants of “BOB-BY, BOB-BY” filled the air at Bishop Miege High School as about 400 kids welcomed Royals’ shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. to his first youth baseball camp on Thursday morning July 25th.

The event, organized by Witt, raised funds for Answering the Call (ATC), a nonprofit supporting first responders like retired police officer and Royals superfan Sarah Nauser, who is battling ALS. All proceeds from the camp’s registration fees went to ATC in Nauser’s honor.

Witt, now a key figure in the Kansas City community, spent the day pitching, playing catch, and participating in games with the campers. The event concluded with Witt presenting Nauser with a $45,000 check, supported by CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

“Giving back to her and supporting what Answering the Call does is close to me and really special,” Witt said. He emphasized his commitment to the community and hopes to continue similar efforts in the future.
