Apartment Fire in Manhattan This Morning Extinguished Quickly

At 6:44 a.m. on Monday morning, the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to 2514 Stagg Hill Rd for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a three-story apartment building with smoke showing from the top floor. The building was searched, and the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes. The fire damage was contained to the apartment where the fire started. A total of 17 firefighters responded on five fire apparatus with the last units clearing at around still on scene at the time of this release. No injuries were reported. Stagg Hill Rd was closed for about an hour. The building is a 3-story, 12-unit, apartment building. Loss is estimated at $50,000. The owner is listed as the Russell K. Briggs Trust of Manhattan. The fire’s cause is under investigation at this time.
