On Saturday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m. the Clifton American Legion Post 227 is hosting a benefit for Gunnar Sorell and his family to help pay for medical bills from Gunnar’s fight and rehabilitation from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the nerves, which caused him to lose muscle function.
Gunnar spent multiple weeks at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital needing to regain muscle function and retrain his body and brain to work together.
Gunnar and his family are long-standing citizens of Clifton, with his parents owning Tailgater’s Steakhouse in Vining. Legion Commander Jack Schwab said the Sorells do a lot for the Community.
The legion will have a Soup Supper, with Bingo and an Auction be held with proceeds going to the Sorells. Many donations have already been made, but Schwab says they are still accepting donations.
You can see current donations up for grabs, get additional information, and read the story of Gunnar’s fight on the Legion’s Facebook Page.
