The Marshall County Arts Cooperative will host a Battle of the Bands competition on Sunday, July 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Marshall County Fairgrounds, Blue Rapids, Kan.
This event is a new addition to the Marshall County Fair. It offers a platform for bands to showcase their talent, connect with new audiences, and compete for cash prizes. The Battle of the Bands will occur right after the parade, ensuring a lively crowd.
Each participating band will have a 15-minute set to impress the judges and the audience. A professional sound system will be provided to ensure top-quality performances. The competition boasts impressive prizes, with $1,500 awarded for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 for third place.
“We believe this event is a great opportunity for bands to show their talents and gain exposure,” said Sally Oliver, the arts cooperative’s vice president. “We are thrilled to provide a platform where musicians can shine and compete for significant cash prizes.”
Eight bands are invited to join the competition.
“Whether you are a seasoned group or a newly formed band, this is a perfect opportunity to gain exposure,” Oliver said.
Bands interested in participating must register by July 12. To register, call or text 785-859-4260. Registration is available online at marshallcountyarts.org
“Don’t miss out on this incredible chance to be part of Marshall County’s vibrant music scene,” Oliver added. “This will be a great platform for Bands, but also promises to be a fun experience for the audience. We look forward to seeing everyone at the fairgrounds for an evening of great music.”
