Today, Derek Schmidt, the former Attorney General of Kansas, emerged as the sole contender in the Republican Primary for Kansas’ Second Congressional District to endorse the U.S. Term Limits Pledge.
The document opposes any efforts to increase marginal income tax rates for individuals and businesses. It also opposes any net reduction or elimination of deductions or credits unless they are offset by equivalent reductions in tax rates.
Derek’s strong support of term limits demonstrates that there are individuals willing to listen to the majority of voters who advocate for term limits, according to U.S. Term Limits President Philip Blumel. Blumel emphasized that America needs a Congress comprised of citizen legislators rather than career politicians.
By signing the U.S. Term Limits Pledge, Derek is committing to be a leader for term limits in Washington D.C., noted Scott Tillman, COO of U.S. Term Limits. Tillman highlighted that Derek’s written commitment ensures voters can rely on his support for term limits
