Director of Eisenhower Library appointed to new Presidential Library

Dawn Hammatt, Director of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum has been appointed as the new Director of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, TX.

We spoke to Ms. Hammatt about her decision to take on the Director Role at the George H.W. Bush Library and Museum. Ms. Hammatt let us know that she is taking on this role as this will allow her to expand her knowledge and continue learning new things. She will also get to work with a more modern administration, which she has first-hand memories of.

Reflecting on her tenure in Abilene, she expressed pride in the enhancements and new exhibits at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. However, her fondest memories revolve around the community of Abilene, collaboration with a dedicated staff, and interactions with visitors.

She went on to say that she will be staying on as the Acting Director at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum until a new Director is appointed.
