EquiFest of Kansas: A Grand Showcase of Equine Diversity and Industry Innovation

By Trish Svoboda

EquiFest of Kansas equine expo was organized by the Kansas Horse Council in February 1998, initially hosted in Wichita, and eventually settling in Salina in 2020. Taking place March 14-17 at the Saline Co. Livestock Expo Center & Tony’s Pizza Event Center, this event is the primary fundraiser for the Kansas Horse Council, and remains a cornerstone of the equine industry in Kansas.

Drawing approximately 15,000 attendees annually, EquiFest of KS stands out for its diversity, showcasing a multitude of breeds and disciplines through demonstrations, competitions, and exhibits.

This year includes special demonstrations by the American Freedom Drill Team Riders, the First Infantry Division Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard, and more. Guided stall barn tours will also be given each day. Competitions will include barrel racing, draft races, and even a kids’ coloring contest. The event will also have a variety of vendors, from clothing and accessories to home décor and agricultural equipment. In addition, there will be world-renowned clinicians, live music, and special guests.
