Evergy is reminding customers who need help with their utility bills this winter, that they are still able to apply for financial assistance.
Residents in Kansas can apply for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) through Friday, March 29th.
Under the Cold Weather Rule, Evergy refrains from disconnecting customers for nonpayment when temperatures fall below the specified threshold, which is 35 degrees in Kansas. To assist customers in avoiding the accumulation of potentially substantial bills during this period, support from LIEAP is available.
Evergy customers who need help filling out applications can take advantage of in-person assistance at Evergy Connect: Wichita Connect, 111 Ellis St: Sign up here for in-person LIEAP assistance from Evergy Connect staff members
Evergy Kansas customers outside of Wichita Metro can also attend LIEAP in-person application assistance events throughout the service area. Click here for a full list. For more information on Evergy’s financial assistance options, customers can click here.
