Since 2012 the Flint Hills Discovery Center Foundation has been recognizing individuals or organizations that make a significant impact to the Flints Hills through conservation with the Annual “Friend of the Flint Hills” Recipient Award.

Lesley White, FHDC Foundation Director, says they honor those who spend time, effort, and resources in conserving the Flint Hills.

The 2024 Friend of the Flint Hills Recipient is Dave Kendall, a longtime filmmaker who has spent his professional life exploring and showcasing the beauty of Kansas, with an emphasis on the Flint Hills.

The Friend of the Flint Hills Event will occur on April 12th at 6:30 p.m. at the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan.
